David L. Sweatman (1832-1920), was born in Biloxi, taught school in Winston County, and ultimately settled with family in Winona, MS. He attended Cumberland School of Law at Cumberland University, the 12th oldest law school in the nation, and thereafter practiced law in Winona. As a devoted Christian and civic leader, he was instrumental in establishing Moore Memorial Methodist Church and the Bank of Winona. It is indeed an honor to have his name as part of this law office.
